at prudence, every piece is thoughtfully crafted to feel as though it’s already part of your story. jewellery to live in, love in, and pass on.

Prue grew up in Ballarat, surrounded by the intricate beauty of Victorian-era homes. Her parents dedicated their lives to lovingly restoring these historical gems, and through them, she inherited
a deep appreciation for timeless design and the kind of craftsmanship that endures.

Creativity has always been at the heart of who Prue is. From an early age, she was encouraged to draw and paint, inspired by her grandmothers and aunties who nurtured her love for art. That creative spark led her into
a professional career in musical theatre, where she spent years performing and touring across Australia. Alongside her stage work, she took on a role at a manufacturing jeweller as a diamond consultant—an experience that sparked a fascination with the artistry of goldsmithing. That curiosity quickly evolved into a passion, leading her to study jewellery manufacturing for three years. She hasn’t looked back since.

What draws Prue most to jewellery is its ability to hold meaning. Whether it’s love, memory, or celebration, a piece of jewellery becomes
a tangible reminder of something deeply felt. That philosophy is at the heart of Prudence—a quiet reverence for pieces that grow more beautiful with age. She’s especially drawn to the natural patina that develops on well-worn jewellery: the softened curves and gentle abrasions that whisper of a life well lived.

Outside the studio, Prue spends time fossicking with her partner Ben. Together, they’ve built a growing collection of Australian sapphires—each one a memory, many of which find their way into Prudence pieces.
