PRUDENCE. TERMS & CONDITIONS
Every Prudence. piece is handcrafted with time, care and intention. By placing an order, paying a deposit, or checking out online, you're letting us know you've read and agreed to the terms below. Please note that handmade jewellery can vary slightly in shape, finish or stone colour - this is part of its character.
QUOTES
Quotes (in person or by email) are valid for 14 days. Prices may change over time, particularly as the cost of gold shifts - we'll always keep you updated.
DEPOSITS
For custom work, a $100 deposit may be required to create a CAD design or wax model. Once you're happy, a 50% deposit moves it into production, with the final balance due before we send your piece home to you. If payment is delayed beyond what we've agreed, we may need to hold or cancel your order.
SIZING & RESIZING
All our rings come with one complimentary resize, including return shipping. Some designs can't be resized - we'll let you know ahead of time. Resizing is limited to 2-3 sizes up or down. Please get in touch within 30 days of receiving your ring if you need one. Additional resizes are $90.
RETURNS & EXCHANGES
We accept exchanges or credit notes within 14 days of purchase, provided your piece is:
- Unworn
- Returned in its original condition and packaging
- Accompanied by proof of purchase
Return postage is your responsibility. Custom or one-off designs are final sale - this includes any piece made to your specific size, style or finish. By confirming a custom order or paying a deposit, you agree to this.
We only issue refunds for pieces found to have a manufacturing fault. We're unable to offer refunds for:
- Change of mind
- Incorrect sizing
- Postal delays
Refund requests must be made within 30 days of purchase. Nothing in these terms limits your rights under the Australian Consumer Law.
CANCELLING YOUR ORDER
We allow cancellations within 12 hours of ordering. Expedited (rush) makes waive this cancellation period.
WARRANTY & REPAIRS
We offer a 12-month warranty for confirmed manufacturing faults. This doesn't cover:
- Bends or breaks from impact
- Lost or chipped stones (unless due to a manufacturing claw fault)
- Tarnishing or wear from everyday use
Prudence 925 silver products are not considered faulty if they oxidize due to a customer's skin pH or other external factors such as bathing in chlorinated or chemically treated pools, saunas or hot spas, lotions and perfumes or exposing the jewellery to other chemicals.
Even if a repair isn't covered by warranty, we're always happy to take a look and quote you.
JEWELLERY CARE
To keep your piece looking its best:
- Clean gently with mild soapy water or a polishing cloth
- Avoid harsh chemicals and store in a soft pouch
- Remove before showering, swimming or heavy activity (such as the gym or working on the tools)
Pearls and opals are especially delicate - porous and sensitive to heat, moisture and chemicals. Keep them away from perfumes, lotions and water, and always store them separately to prevent scratches.
TAXES & DUTIES
Prices include GST for Australian customers. International taxes and import duties may apply and are the buyer's responsibility - see our Shipping page for details.
DESIGN OWNERSHIP
All Prudence. designs - including custom pieces - remain our intellectual property. We may use them for future collections, photographs or inspiration, unless exclusivity is agreed in writing.
LIMIT OF LIABILITY
Prudence. is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages resulting from the misuse or wear of our pieces.
These terms are written in line with the Australian Consumer Law, and are simply here to help this small studio run smoothly while you find a piece to keep for years to come.
